Sarah and Dan asked me to shoot their engagement photos at Alabama Hills, one of my all time favorite camping spots. In December. When the pass is closed and the trip from Oakland goes from five hours to eight. And the temperatures drop to freezing. I begrudgingly agreed because they promised hot water bottles and a spot to sleep in their van. I left Oakland before dawn and met them just in time to have an hour session before the sun dipped behind Mt Whitney. We clambered around the rocks, with me yelling at them how good they looked while Dan, a rock climber, checked out the quality ? of the rocks. They delivered on the aforementioned hot water bottle, and even made me ramen and pulled out secret cookies. Honestly, this shoot was a dream: shooting dear friends and their beautiful love in this uniquely gorgeous landscape.
