Branding photos for Flower Friends SF, all shot on film!
I’m always so honored to and love working with creatives in different fields here in San Francisco—it’s such a fun collaborative process getting to feed off each other’s creative energy. Emily needed some more photos of herself, and specifically wanted photos of her in process of arranging flowers. She wanted some images to update her website with, and also content for Instagram.
First we put together a mood board and a shot list, as well as talked about the general vibe and vision for her shoot. Flower Friends SF is vibrant, colorful, and funky—nothing too perfect or subdued. The shot list focused on images of her arranging flowers, as well as details of the mess and the process. Creating branding photos is so fun because it goes beyond headshots or portraits—you get to visually represent your brand as a whole. We get to shoot B roll, behind the scenes, stills of you at work and in action. Branding photography allows your clients to connect with your brand by seeing a bit behind the curtain. Especially for San Francisco small businesses, customers want to know who they’re hiring, and branding photos give them a peak into your process and brand. Branding photos also allows the business to have consistent imagery across all channels, providing a better customer experience.
